Choosing the Right Outdoor TV

When considering a display for an outdoor space we guide our clients to one extreme or the other… At the very top end, if cost is less of a consideration or the application absolutely demands it, we suggest going with a TV rated for outdoors like the Samsung Terrace TV or Sunbrite. These TVs are designed and fabricated to withstand more extreme environments regardless of temperature, sunlight, moisture, dust or debris. Like digital signage monitors, these TVs are typically rated for more hours of usage, are brighter, and include an extended warranty. At the baseline, when cost is more of a consideration and the area is somewhat protected from the elements, we suggest installing the least expensive TV available. It doesn’t have to be a name brand. Go into the purchase as if it is a “disposable” TV that will only last a couple of years and if you get more life out of it than that, consider it a bonus. Whichever way you choose to go, there are products that will extend the life of TVs installed outdoors.
